The 2Rivers Festival was intended as a way to connect people in Guelph with our rivers and to inspire in them a love for the preciousness of what we enjoy here. Consider joining our steering committee to help keep our creativity high and to engage an even broader population in the exploration of our rivers and all that they offer.

Become a Steering Committee Member:

Our Steering Committee meets virtually once a month from 5-6:30 pm on the 1st Wednesday of the month to discuss planning, event solicitation, festival direction and more. We aim to have a diverse committee in order to help us create a festival that fulfills our aims and expands the scope, diversity and inclusivity of the festival. 

The role of the steering committee itself is not to host events but rather to reach out to organizations that are already engaged with our rivers and to help organize and promote events offered by these groups

Become a Volunteer as an Event Marshall:

The 2Rivers Festival utilizes wonderful volunteers to help events run smoothly during the festival in the months of May-June. We offer training for Event Marshalls in April to ensure you are ready for events during the festival!

As an event marshall you will:

• Provide the following at events:
  • Introductions and land acknowledgements from a script for the event
  • Facilitation and general event support
  • Scripted event closing comments 
  • Meet with Host Organizations 20 minutes in advance for their online or in-person event to offer support and make sure everything is set up to run smoothly.  As well as email communication prior to the event to check-in with Host Organizations about any additional support needed with support from the 2Rivers Festival Coordinator.
