Turn an invasive species into a delicious treat!
Garlic mustard is an invasive herb native to Europe. It spreads quickly, and interferes with the growth of other plants in the area including several species at risk. While it is not a good food source for wildlife, it is high in vitamins A and C, and makes fantastic pesto.
Join us for a garlic mustard pull followed by a hands-on workshop on how to turn it into delicious pesto. Learn about invasive species along the Speed and the Eramosa, contribute to the health of the river bank, and leave with some recipes and your very own tasty pesto!
We will be providing the ingredients, the utensils, and the blenders. Please bring your own containers! ALL WELCOME. This is a family-friendly event. For more information: 519.824.2091 or [email protected].
