Despite unanimous support by council in 2017 for this project, city staff are proposing an interim solution that keeps the crosswalk on the road and even that may not be implemented for 20 years. Please sign this petition to indicate support for the Speedvale Bridge underpass and that it be constructed at the same time the bridge is replaced.

Petition for Safe Passage of Walkers, Runners and Cyclists - On the proposed Speedvale Avenue Bridge Underpass
We, the citizens of Guelph, petition City Council to support the proposed Speedvale Avenue Bridge Underpass to allow for safe passage of walkers, runners and cyclists. In balancing the interests of nature and people, we support this project as part of the long-term goal of achieving safe river system access and connectivity. We request that Council ensures that this historic opportunity be acted upon now while planning is underway for construction of the bridge so that we make the most of expenditures on these related projects.
